The Book of The Revelation

The Revelation of Jesus Christ is the last book of the Bible - it is the culmination of all previous writings and the final word of Holy Scripture. I like how J.Vernon McGee put it - "This book is like a great Union Station where the great trunk lines of prophecy come in from other portions of Scripture."

Revelation is a book to be read and opened, not closed up or ignored, and it is about Jesus Christ. Keep in mind, that He is the great subject of the book.

Chapter 1 describes the things that John the Apostle first sees - the Glorified Jesus Christ.
Chapters 2&3 are the 7 letters to the 7 churches in which we see application to all churches and a panorama of church history to the present day.
Chapters 4&5 are future and a scene from the very throne of Heaven where the Lamb as though slain takes the 7 sealed scroll and is found worthy to judge the world of it's evil. This is the prelude to the judgments.
Chapters 6-18 are the future judgments the world will face during the 7 years of tribulation spoken of by the prophet Daniel in Daniel 9:27, as well as by Jesus in the gospels. Just and righteous judgment is poured out on the Earth.
Chapters 19-22 are also future and show the victory and return of Jesus Christ to rule and reign on the earth with His Church - the Bride of Christ, as well as describing the Millennial (1000 year) Reign of Jesus Christ and the New Heavens and the New Earth He creates.

What a glorious plan and future God has for us! After studying and reading Revelation we must come to the conclusion - "even so, come Lord Jesus, come!"
