So, what are Sundays like?

We focus on God's Word.

The heart of our Sunday service is Scripture. We teach through the Bible chapter by chapter, verse by verse, because we believe God’s Word is meant to be known, understood, and lived out.
Bring your Bible if you have one (and if you don’t, that’s okay!). We’ll open it together, dig into what it says, and learn how to follow Jesus more faithfully because of it.
We worship together.

Yes, there’s music. And yes, it’s good. 😉 But we’re also not trying to put on a concert and have a multi-camera angle laser light show.

Our small worship team leads us in songs that keep the focus where it belongs: on Jesus. It’s relaxed, heartfelt, and down-to-earth. You don’t need to know the songs or even sing along your first time. Just come.
We take communion every week.

Every Sunday, we take time to remember what Jesus has done for us through His death and resurrection by taking communion.

Communion isn’t something we save for an occasional Sunday. Every week, we make space to remember what Jesus has done for us through His death and resurrection.

It’s a simple but important rhythm of our time together as believers: opening the Word, worshipping Jesus, remembering the gospel, and gathering around His table as believers.

And if you’re still figuring out what you believe, that’s okay. There’s no pressure to participate. You’re welcome to simply observe, ask questions, and learn what following Jesus is all about.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I wear?
Whatever you’re comfortable in! We really mean that. You’ll see everything from jeans and sneakers to Sunday-best-ish. There’s no dress code and no need to dress up.
Do I need to bring a Bible?
If you have one, bring it! We spend a lot of time in the Bible together each Sunday. If you don’t own one (or have absolutely no idea where to start), don’t worry. You can still follow along. We have Bibles to borrow and Bibles to give!
What if I’ve never been to church before?
Then we’d especially love to have you. You don’t need to know the songs, understand the Bible, or know when to sit or stand. There’s no test at the door. 😉

What shapes what you believe?
The Bible does.

We believe Scripture is the Word of God and the authority for what we believe, how we live, and how we understand the world around us. That means we don’t change biblical teaching to keep up with culture, trends, or popular opinion.

We know that won’t always make us the most pupular voice in the room. 😉 But our goal isn’t to hear our own voice... it's to hear God's. We want to faithfully follow Jesus, with both truth, mercy, and grace.
What if I’m not sure I believe in Jesus?
You don’t have to have your faith figured out before you walk through our doors.  If you’re curious about Jesus or Christianity, or who God is, Mosaic Oaklands is a place where you can learn, ask questions, and explore.
Will I be expected to give money?
Nope. We don't even send around baskets or have a little spiel about it before we begin service. Giving is part of how those who call Mosaic their church home support the ministry, but as our guest, there’s absolutely no expectation for you to give.
What about my kids?
Your kids are welcome! We have Kids Church every Sunday, as well as Nursery. And if you join us for Feast and Fellowship on Wednesdays, we have Kids Church then too!
How long is the service?
Our Sunday service typically lasts about 90 minutes, including worship, teaching from the Bible, communion, and prayer. People love to linger afterward and have coffee and snacks.
Am I going to stick out as the new person?
Mosaic is small enough that people actually get to know each other, but not so small that the whole room is going to turn around when you walk through the door. Come in, find a seat, and settle in.
Is this a place I can grow in my faith?
Absolutely. We believe following Jesus is about more than attending church on Sundays. It’s about continually growing in God’s Word, becoming more like Christ, and learning to follow Him in every area of our lives.

That’s why discipleship is such an important part of life at Mosaic. From studying Scripture together each Sunday to small groups, Bible studies, serving, and simply doing life alongside other believers, there are plenty of opportunities to dig deeper and grow in your faith here.
Where should I park?
There’s free street parking all around the church, as well as a small parking lot in the back. Give yourself a few extra minutes your first Sunday and you’ll be all set!
